TriTerm Medical Insurance

3-Year Short Term Underwritten by Golden Rule Insurance Company

You’re looking for health insurance. Not cheap health insurance because you know the cheapest won’t have the benefits you need. Still, affordable health insurance with benefits is what’s on your mind.

Underwritten by Golden Rule Insurance Company, a UnitedHealthcare branded TriTerm Medical insurance plan, might be just the temporary health insurance you’re looking for.

Available in select states, TriTerm Medical is limited duration short-term health insurance designed for nearly 36 months1 over 3 terms for those looking for insurance for an extended length of time that offers benefits in the areas you and your family need.

Why TriTerm Medical?

You want preventive care to help you and your kids stay healthy.

You have access to preventive care coverage for both you and your children on a plan.3 Child immunization services that qualify as preventive are exempt from deductibles, coinsurance or copayments.

You want insurance from an experienced brand you know.

You want a plan that is backed by regulations and consumer protections and one that doesn’t disqualify coverage based on lifestyle choices.

You’d like help with the high cost of prescriptions. You got it!

All TriTerm Medical plans have prescription coverage. Copay Select plans have a $25 copay for common (Tier 1) prescriptions. That makes the decision to fill a prescription that much easier.

How Is TriTerm Medical Designed to Meet Your Needs?

Coverage Lasts to Almost 3 Years

Have the same plan for nearly 36 months over 3 terms and spend less time worrying about your next health plan. That’s coverage long enough for almost any transition.

Coverage in Areas of Need

  • Preventive care coverage2 – $200 of preventive care coverage per person, per term, means you can go to the doctor to stay healthy, not just when you’re sick.
  • Office visit copays – On some plans, pay a $50 per visit copay for 4 doctor office visits (per person, per term) with no deductible.
  • Benefits in these areas – Prescription coverage, some coverage for home health care, rehab, and hospice, and more.

Continuous Coverage

You apply once for almost 3 years of coverage. Once you’re approved for TriTerm Medical health insurance, your coverage simply moves into the second and third years when you get there.

Large, Nationwide Network Access

UnitedHealthcare offers access to one of the largest networks in the U.S., with nearly 1,300,000 physicians and other health care professionals and approximately 6,000 hospitals and other medical facilities. Your current doctor may already be in-network, or there’s often an in-network option nearby.4

Dental or Vision Coverage5

Most medical insurance plans don’t include dental insurance or vision insurance as a part of the plan. Golden Rule Insurance Company plans can fill that hole in coverage. Dental insurance includes coverage for services ranging from routine cleanings to root canals. Vision insurance covers routine eye exams and provides benefits for glasses, contacts or both, depending on the plan.5

1 The coverage term is one day less than 3 years. In SC, plans are three 11-month terms. This coverage is not required to comply with certain federal market requirements for health insurance, principally those contained in the Affordable Care Act. Be sure to check your policy carefully to make sure you are aware of any exclusions or limitations regarding coverage of preexisting conditions or health benefits (such as hospitalization, emergency services, maternity care, preventive care, prescription drugs, and mental health and substance use disorder services). Your policy might also have lifetime and/or annual dollar limits on health benefits. If this coverage expires or you lose eligibility for this coverage, you might have to wait until an open enrollment period to get other health insurance coverage.
